Zoo day

It was so pretty here this weekend so we took full advantage of it and headed out to the zoo Sunday. We even helped my dad on some home projects he had to do Saturday for my mom so he could come with us. I was really glad he was going cause Mosey and a very large public area was making me pretty nervous. She has just been so independant lately. Well she was actually quite the angel. She had a moment or two but what 2 1/2 year old doesn't? We have a pretty zoo here and it was just big enough for Mosey.
You know though whenever you are out somewhere like that you always see the most interesting people. Well I just have to share this one with you. I was taking pictures the Meerkats and Mosey was looking at them down below with my dad and M.D. Well this kid who is 8 or 9 is standing next to me with his family (he is rocking a mohawk). He looks at the meerkats and says those aren't cats those are fucking rodents. My jaw falls open and I am just waiting for this kid to get beat or something and all of a sudden everyone he is with starts cracking up. I had to walk away cause I was about to beat that kid since no one else would!! Other then that though not to many other heart attacks. Here are some pics from our day. Happy Monday lovely bloggers!!

Finally Friday

Geez this week has been a long one. I had a 24 hour bug yesterday which was just way more fun then y'all want to know about. I think this week drug by because this weekend is going to be amazing and we have so many fun things we are going to do. It is main street festival in our downtown this weekend so we are gonna go Saturday and then Sunday we are going to the zoo. I am so excited. I know Mosey is going to go crazy over it. So I don't have a whole lot new so I will fill this blog with some silly Mosey stories from the week.

I truly belive she might have munchausen syndrome (okay not truly but it is quite funny). She is always talking about these "boo boos" she has. This morning she is walking around with two huge band-aids on her arms because she SAYS her friend at school bit her. Trust me there is nothing wrong with her. I guess it must be an obsession with the band-aids cause let me tell you that child is a tank. She runs into walls and falls down and just keeps on going.
She also spent a day this week insisting she needed to wear my hat. We have 500 hats in this house but it had to be the one on my head! Cause she really wanted to just laugh at my hair I am pretty sure.
I think this might be my favorite picture from this week. She is suppose to be taking a nap but the dog decided she wanted to take a nap and Mosey had to move to the other side of her bed.
Sorry all the pictures this week were from my phone and they are pretty grainy. Have a wonderful Friday everyone!!!

Guns in bars and parks?!?!?!

Okay I seriously can not take it anymore. Our state is at an all time high 10% unemployment rate, we are seeing a mass property tax shortfall due to the economy, and our state goverment has spent two months working on these bills:

* Bill passed to allow guns in bars
http://www.wkrn.com/Global/story.asp?S=10197587
* Bill passed by the House to allow guns in parks
http://www.wkrn.com/global/story.asp?s=10216058
* Bill to allow wine to cross state lines
http://www.wkrn.com/Global/story.asp?S=10091061
* Bill to designate milk as official state beverage
http://www.wkrn.com/Global/story.asp?S=10079366
* Bill to bring distilleries to more counties
http://www.wkrn.com/Global/story.asp?S=10154763

This is insane!!! So basically I can now go to a park or a bar with my AK and not have to worry someone is gonna piss me off and make me leave. Let me tell you I think this is grand. I plan on taking Mosey to the park today and let me tell you if  she and little "Sally" have any issues her mama and I are gonna be talking at the end of my shotgun barrel. REALLY?!?!

I do think the milk as the state drink is odd. I mean come on we make Jack Daniels here. Who are we fooling? It is obvious the milk is a cover up for what is really going on around here.

Well I think we are off to the park. First a stop at the liquor store for some "milk", a stop at the hunting section for some shotgun shells, and then off for a FUN filled day in the sun.

"HOTTIE" pants

I picked this up the other day at Borders and I literally read it in under two hours. I was laying on the couch reading and M.D. was sucked into his little playstation world ( I so do not get it but that is a rant for another time). I was laughing so hard he kept looking back at me like I was crazy. I really picked it up because it looked funny and I have this kick that I am on right now that she also addresses.
I can not understand first off why any parent thinks it is okay to buy your 10 year old pants that say "HOTTIE" or "JUICY" on the ass but then for the parent to also wander into the juniors section and buy the matching pants. WHO DOES THIS??? As a parent you have to wonder what kind of attention you are looking to attract with these pants and outfits. 10 or 12 year old boys? It is wonderful if you can fit into a size 2 again after children. Yes we are all jeleous but please do it with respect. I can speak for myself and say I can never once remember thinking I hope my child wants to wear skanky clothes because I will encourage it and match it. Clothes like this lead to rumors and rumors lead to actions. I can promise that I will do everything in my power to keep that child from sex and drugs and all those wonderful things. Can I totally prevent it? No, but I will go to sleep everynight knowing that I did all I could do. Top of my list will be to beging practicing the words HELL NO for when she asks for some hottie pants. "Sorry baby mommy can't fit into those  too so we will need to look for another option."

Just for laughs...

It is a cool dreary day here and so I thought I would just post something that I know will make me laugh. I hope it makes everyone laugh. Actually if it doesn't you have no sense of humor and probably shouldn't read my blog anymore! Have a great day everyone!

Happy Easter

Just wanting to share some of the joy from our day. We had a very nice easy day and were so blessed to get beautiful weather. We even avoided a total Mosey sugar melt down. I still don't know how we didn't have one (she was eating a whole bag of jelly beans when I was in the shower...thank you M.D.). Probably my true Easter gift. THANK YOU EASTER BUNNY!!  We spent half the day with my family and half the day with M.D.'s family. Which truly it is just all of our family. Here are some pics from our day. I am hoping to get some back from M.D.'s cousin who takes amazing pictures and will post those soon if I do. OH WAIT...by the way I made her dress, shoes, and bows. Yes I am patting myself on the back.
My brother built her a "fort"
Out on the couch after a fun day
Happy Easter everyone! I hope your day was as blessed as ours.

Thoughts and prayers...

Mother nature never ceases to amaze me with her power and randomness. These are pictures from a storm that came through our city yesterday and devestated a town 15 minutes away from  us.
These are just a few pictures. The devestiation is vast. Please keep these families and community in your thoughts and prayers this Easter weekend.

My husbands WTF moment...

So for the last 2 months or so on the days that Mosey goes to school I always take her and pick her up. Well she has been down right difficult to get out of school. Throwing fits, kicking, screaming at the top of her lungs, and of course my favorite as I am standing there dragging her she yells "NO HIT ME MOMMY". Oh she has no idea how bad I want to beat her butt. I don't even know where the hell she picked that one up at. We literally live 30 seconds from the daycare but by the time I get home I look like I have been through WW3 and am ready to scream and she walks right in and hugs her daddy and tells him how much she loves him. I then tell him she is getting everything taken away and can't speak for a week along with timeout for a year. He laughs and says "Oh it can't be that bad."

Well today M.D. picked me up from work since he is off tomorrow and we went and got Mosey together. She pulled out all the stops for him and to add fuel to the fire there were tons of parents up front cause they got pictures back today. He finally gets her over his shoulder and she is screaming and kicking and he runs into a friend he played baseball with and is so embarassed. Of course that guy got it and just laughed. He gets her in the car and she does my most favorite thing. Sticks her legs stick straight up against the back seat and won't let you get her in the seat. Needless to say when we got home she had a nice talk and some toys taken away. AHHHHHHHH sweet justice!!

Okay on a side note I am looking for opinions on kiddie leashes.
I always thought I would never and I mean NEVER but Mosey is getting a little to wild for me and holding hands in a parking lot has become a crazy fight. Gosh I am so that mom I was never going to be. I just want to know what you guys think of them. Yes, No, Child abuse? Let me know.

Catch up...

So this week is the ever so popular Spring Break and all the kiddos that work for my parents have peaced out for that first fab beach experience without there rents. I am assuming that at this point they are all suffering from serious sun poison and toxic hangovers. Oh to be able to have that much fun again. I on the other hand am being the fabulous person I am and helping out with the extra hours so I haven't been around here much. I thought I would play a little catch up today.

I had to stop by there the other day and had Mosey with me. I was talking with my mom and realized I hadn't heard Mosey in a minute so I went looking for her. I am just gonna call this what it is...Way illegal child labor!

I personally love that she even had the gloves on.

I also got to have a little mommy time and it was AWESOME! I finally used a gift certificate I got for mothers day last year to get a pedi.

M.D. said they were way to bright and I told him to kiss my ass. They make me think of summer and not of the fact we are suppose to get snow flurries today (it was 75 yesterday)!
